I cannot type in the Authors field of an item in the catalogue?

Go to Configuration > Configuration > Items-Editing and untick the Split Author field tick box.

I would like to repair my library database?

Go to Other Utilities > Backup and Restore > More Options button and select Compact and Repair a library database from the drop down list.

How often should we compact and repair our library database?

We would recommend that this is done several times a term, so approximately every three
weeks.

Why are we not getting any barcodes when we do a barcode report?

Check in Configuration > Configuration/Reports > General that you have set your Barcode bar width ratio and Barcode bar width. You can then use the Barcode settings test button to print a test page to check the best setting for your scanner.

Our Librarian has left or is away and we do not know the username or password to log in to Library Manager?

Type in username: forgot and password: forgot and this will reinstate musac/musac as the default username and password.

How can we add a different borrower type to the ones that came with the package?

Go to Configuration> Fields and Lists > Borrower Status and add a New Entry.

How do I make the overdue price enter automatically after entering the purchase price?

In Configuration > Configuration > Items—Editing, at the bottom of the screen is a section to “Automatically calculate the overdue price” by adding an amount of $X.

How do I add a new librarian as the current librarian is leaving?

Under Configuration > Users and Groups > Add User.

Previously Author surnames were all in capitals and now they add with name case, how can I make all Author surnames in my database all name case?

This is available in Library Utilities > Cleanup/Change case on Field > List. Select Field = Author (Items) and then select the option of name case and click OK.

What do you do if you are not seeing items in the catalogue appear in the relevant OPAC searches?

Go to Library Utilities > Cleanup > Rebuild Search Indexes and click Cleanup.

Where do I set how many books a year level can have, and how long they can have them out for?

In Configuration > Borrower Framework. Don’t forget to save your changes before
exiting from this screen.

How can we get to print OPAC search results?

A You need to go to Configuration > Configuration/OPAC – General and in the section – Allow these actions in OPAC there is a tick box for Print Search Results.
