The team at Solutions & Services are pleased to offer our Roadshows for 2023.
We hope that all client schools will have someone attend and really look forward to meeting with you again. Our aim is always to provide important professional development for Business Managers, Finance Administrators, Principals and interested Board members.
All our schools use Xero, and the majority now use the appstack components, including Monty. The format of the 2023 Roadshow has been redesigned, but will continue to offer the workshop style sessions for part of the day. These were popular last year and feedback from our 2022 sessions was very positive. We have added current topics, have new staff and will try to inject some fun in an effort to make school finances fun! The opportunity for school users to get together and share common challenges should never be under estimated either.
This year attendees will be together with our team first, then move into two groups for the morning, returning together for lunch and shared sessions in the afternoon. We encourage Principals and interested Board members to attend also. If you wish to bring a laptop, or share, that would be great. These will be helpful for the practical sessions.
More of our team will be involved to share presentations, enable group sessions and assist with more hands-on professional development. We have added another session in Gore due to the increase in numbers of client schools in Otago and Southland. Venue and catering costs continue to increase and we travel with a big team, but have offered an ‘early bird’ discount to encourage schools to register soon. Some venues have limited numbers.
We think it is very important that finance staff are able to attend and we welcome Principals and Board members. Please find the Roadshow venue and date that suits best.
The programme will be the same in each centre, except in Westport and Hokitika where we will adapt slightly depending on numbers and dates are yet to be confirmed, and in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Palmerston North where we will tailor to those attending. Dates still to be confirmed for Wellington and Palmerston North. Most topics will be covered though.
We will hydrate you, provide brain snacks and stretches, and aim to keep you motivated!
Tip sheets and notes will be provided and emailed to attendees after the session.
A light lunch will be served and provide a chance to chat together.

These sessions vary as we aim to meet the needs of those relatively new to school finances or wanting more explanation (Coming to Grips) and those who have a higher level of knowledge & experience (Flying Higher)

12.30-1.30pm Dilemmas and common conundrums for schools
1.30-2.20pm Assets update & tips – managing the fixed asset register, stocktakes etc.
2.20-2.30pm Stretch & quiz “Lost in translation”
2.30-3.00pm Finance considerations re PTA / FOS / H&S groups, including fundraising
3.00-3.10pm Publishing reports on line and audit responses
3.10-3.20pm Property update

The fee for the full day is $240 + GST and includes lunch. If two attendees from the same school register the fee is $220 + GST each.
A $25 per person Early Bird discount applies for registrations received by 05 Sept.

We do encourage you to register early as some venues have limits on numbers in the conference rooms that we have booked.
